DOMINION VIRGINIA POWER RENEWS MASTER CONTRACT FOR FOUR MORE YEARS

Dominion Virginia Power, one of the nation’s largest
investor-owned electric utility companies, has renewed
their master contract with Team Fishel for another four
years. Along with the renewal, Dominion Virginia
Power (DVP) added two new service territories,
Northern Neck and Gloucester. Northern Neck borders
the Fredericksburg operation to the Potomac River.
Gloucester borders our East Richmond operation to
the Chesapeake Bay.
According to Johnnie Bonner, Richmond Area Manager,
eight 2-man service crews are excavating 24-inches to
install 4/0 or 500 electric cables from the residence to
a stub, pedestal or pole. He is utilizing two 3-man
commercial crews, which work in new or existing retail
areas to install cables and larger transformers. The
nine backbone or joint trench crews excavate in
residential areas a minimum of 30-inches to install
primary and secondary cables in the same trench as
well as place the pads, pedestals and hand holes for
each Customer. A single directional drilling crew is
utilized when there is a feed for the Customer, not
enough conduits or running
through an established area.
All totaled,
approximately 75
Teammates are
assigned to this
contract.
“The partnership
we have with this
Customer is
great,” says
Bonner. “We have
worked long and hard to gain their respect and it is
paying off!”
Dominion Virginia Power (DVP) is headquartered in
Richmond, Virginia. The renewal contract became
effective on June 1, 2008.
